“And for this reason I
remind you to kindle afresh the gift
of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands" (2 Timothy 1:6; NASB).
I’ve been reading blogs where some have chosen words for the year. Here
is mine; KINDLE. To awake, stir up, rouse, ignite, promote, to stimulate what
God has given me to do. My fire has been doused and covered with dirt so that
no one even knows what once was there. I’ve been “camping” all around this pile
of kindling that’s sitting in my back room.
So guess what verses God has been using to turn my head in this
direction, give me instructions as to how to light the match and hand me a log.
Gulp….I know, I know, but Lord…”kindle the treasure”—(Ha, that is for Johnnie)
and start again.
The Greek tense for the word, “kindle” is a constant repeated action.
And the word “gift in verse 6 literally means “grace-gift,” something not
earned. Ooouch…..
So I’m going to start stacking the wood (notes) and blow the dust off
my matches and try again. Will y’all hold my hand to the fire-so to speak-and
come and roast marshmallows with me?
Father, grant enough kindling in
me to restart my fire. May I strive to retain the “grace-gift” given me. I consider it a privilege to write for You.

Hi Pat, come on down, I'll have plenty of chocolate and graham crackers. :) Wow, your word is good, too.
Awww, your welcome Johnnie. That was such a thrill to swim and touch dolphins. :)
